Ongoing Industry Experience
I have applied my paleoclimate-derived long-term perspective alongside my geochemistry and carbon cycle expertise within the carbon dioxide removal (CDR) ecosystem since the rapid acceleration of this field in 2022. Through my work at Isometric, I contributed to developing protocols for direct air capture (DAC), enhanced rock weathering (ERW), and ocean alkalinity enhancement (OAE). Here, I also worked to build consensus and address gaps in this growing ecosystem around best practices and standards, and this is where I currently find myself. I have consulted with emerging CDR nonprofit organizations and have recently transitioned this into collaborative research relationships. I have particular expertise in the science and market around “open system” pathways such as OAE and ERW which seek to accelerate natural planetary processes to draw down atmospheric carbon dioxide.
